Because this is Ambient music, atleast that is what it sounds like to me:)
It's a chilled out song, and good to relax to.. I can't really tell you a lot of improvements, well maybe make it less repetitive.. Oh well, maybe thats the strength of the song. Good job on it!

Hah =D I know what trance is and this song actually has a strong trance beat behind it, the song is just slowed down. This would really fall under the depths of the genre Progressive Trance but who knows =P

Tell me about what you used for this, your new samples and sounds, cause I am curious. What you could do for this is make the square (rite?) not the main synth, but that lovely sound you have there playing in the background. Let it filter in, and go all freaky with it! (I'm talking about that sound that is most prominent around 00:38)

Bass is good, a bit of resonance filter might be a good idea though. Just experiment with it. You did a good job on the drums, vary it a bit though, keep it interesting.

Try to experiment with these things;) And keep it going!

As promised.

You really captured the feel in this song good, and the composition is great. Neat job:) The piano stands off a bit bland against the rest of the song though, and the hihats overpower the bassdrum. Try EQ'ing the bassdrum more in the low ends and the hihats in the high ends, it makes the bassdrum stand out more, and the hihats crispier.

The arp in the background is good, but the song is a bit repetitive overall.. When the piano fades away for a moment, I think that is a good place to keep that piano away for a moment and build further on that part of the song. The song is also loopable, sort of:)

To what you said with the build up near the end of the song, you can let the arp filter in with an automation clip there. Try it, the effect is neat:) And add another piano counter melody, that follows the same chord progression ( I don't know if you used one deliberately, but well, chord progressions are sooo amazingly handy.) Try it, it might give you a bit of things you can build on with this song with, and I definitely think you should build this one, because this can easily be a full length trance mix with the right changes.

Good.

You've done a great job on this song.. With that said, lets go to the improvement section: I don't think the bassline fits in very well.. That might be just my opinion, but still, it doesn't sound in harmony with the rest to me.

The electric guitar is fantastic! Reverbed a bit too much I suppose, but still, good job on it!:) The drumming part is also good, and fits in with the song good. You could have included a bit more variation, but it sounds ok like this.

I hope you continue this style, and I will definetely check back on your music!

I'm definitely learning, I have no real background with music, I played Saxophone for a couple years, but never felt like I was really feeling it.

As for the critique, afraid that I am going to have to disagree on the bass line, I personally love it. When I first rendered it, to me it just felt perfect. The reverb also I will defend, as the song was trying to resonate out of deep space. I think I captured the image very well. But then again, I really don't know too much about music. I guess the more I do it, the more I will learn.

Why these low scores?

I really find that this song is put together very well, and I think it is a shame it is voted so low. Of course, there are areas that could be improved on, such as the drumming. The bassline is really well done, only I think that the trumpet shouldn't have been through the whole song. Aside from that, you did a great job on this song, and it is a quality song. Don't let the score discourage you! You have done a great job on this song, and I really think that you're good at what you do:)

I like the beginning :D Nice intro! It gets a bit long once the drums come in though.. Good job in it however! Hmm it gets a bit monotonous when you hear it for.. 1:30 hahaha, but that is ok:) I love it how that psytrancy feeling goes through your whole track! Oh dang. :( The melody still overpowers the beat. I told you to change it ! >.<

Lol, don't listen to me rambling. Your song misses a bit of bass though.. Not that anything is wrong with it.. But the bass lacks oomph. If you use FL Studio, try EQ'ing and Bass Boosting it:) The percussion through the whole song is good, around 5:40 the drums sound abit marchy hahaha. The melody is ok, and although it does overpower the beat, it fits nicely to the rest of the song.

Outro is good, and I don't really have anything more to mention on this track, and I guess that concludes my review. All in all, I think you have done a very good job on this track, and I will definetely look forward to hearing tracks from you!

thanks for the review, and i completely forgot about the beat until you mentioned it, sorry! haha, yeah i wanted to add a bit of arps and pads to some of the drums when it plays alone.
i might add the bass boost to the bass if i ever go back to it.
i thought i PMed you though =/ cause i PMed everyone who reviewed my song but yeah you got to hear it ;)

Good!

It's awesome.. What you should fix in my opinion, is that the beat in the intro is like less hard when the synth ramble effect (whatever:P) comes in. Hmm.. and for some reason I don't really feel the flow through it, it sounds a little.. You know, everything just comes in at once. Well, apparently it is a preview, so I guess that everything will be better once the full version comes out. Looking forward to it!
